Goal
The primary goal for the design team was to create a native mobile app for both iOS and Android platforms that would revolutionize the cashback experience for customers while simultaneously boosting business visibility. This dual-purpose app aimed to seamlessly integrate cashback rewards into the shopping process, incentivizing customers to make purchases from partnered businesses. By offering an intuitive and user-friendly interface, the app would encourage frequent usage, leading to increased customer loyalty and higher engagement rates. For businesses, the goal was to provide a powerful tool that would enhance their visibility within the app's ecosystem, attract new customers, and analyze sales data to optimize their offerings. The design team focused on creating a smooth user journey, from discovering local businesses to earning and redeeming cashback rewards, all while ensuring the app's performance and security met the highest standards across both mobile platforms.
We have a significant challenge in developing the Loycus app because we need to ensure compliance with the strict regulations set by the Bank of Spain (Banco de EspaƱa) for handling customers' financial information. This required implementing robust security measures and transparent data handling practices to meet the stringent requirements for financial technology applications in Spain. The design team worked closely with legal and compliance experts to create user interfaces that not only provided a seamless experience but also clearly communicated how user data was being protected and used, building trust with our customers while adhering to national banking regulations.
Empathize
The design team worked closely with the CEO to uncover new business opportunities and gain a deep understanding of customer and business needs. Regular brainstorming sessions with the CEO allowed for the exploration of innovative ideas and strategies to enhance the app's value proposition. Simultaneously, the team conducted extensive user research, including surveys, interviews, and usability testing with both customers and partnered businesses. This collaborative approach ensured that the app's design and features were aligned with the company's vision while addressing the real-world needs and pain points of its users. By maintaining open lines of communication with all stakeholders, the design team was able to create a product that not only met business objectives but also resonated with its target audience.

Measurement
At Loycus, we leveraged data-driven insights to continuously improve our product. Our dedicated data expert played a crucial role in creating comprehensive dashboards using Amplitude, a powerful analytics platform. These dashboards allowed us to meticulously monitor all events within the app and the business management tool. By analyzing user behavior patterns, we gained valuable insights into how customers interacted with our platform and how businesses utilized our services. This data-centric approach enabled us to make informed decisions, identify areas for improvement, and iterate on our product features. The ability to track and measure user engagement, conversion rates, and other key metrics was instrumental in refining our strategies and ensuring that Loycus remained responsive to the evolving needs of both consumers and businesses in the cashback ecosystem.
